Meet Pastor

Michael Buehler,

Pastor Michael's approach to teaching the Bible leans towards a discussion-based style, focusing on creating space for conversation and questions, inviting people to engage deeply with scripture rather than just listen to it. His goal is to help others learn how to think through God’s Word on their own and build a personal, meaningful relationship with it.

Before stepping into full time ministry, he spent more than 31 years serving with the Dallas Fire Department—a career that helped shape his commitment and compassion for helping people in practical, and meaningful ways. Alongside that work, he devoted over 15 years to serving as an elder at a local church, where he poured into various community ministries, working closely with food and financial care programs, and spent time teaching and mentoring across every age group, from preschoolers all the way to “Senior Saints.”

When he first began attending Gateway Bible Community Church, he jumped in by facilitating a Bible study. That naturally led to part time preaching, and eventually, after completing his Master of Arts in Ministry from Newburgh Theological Seminary, he stepped into the role of full time pastor. Today, he serves as Senior Pastor at GBCC, bringing together his lifelong dedication to service, his passion for teaching, and his desire to help people grow in their faith.

Our story

In the fall of 2022, a small group of believers in the town of Williams, Arizona felt God stirring their hearts. They dreamed of a simple, Bible based, community focused church — a place where people could gather, grow, and experience genuine fellowship rooted in God’s Word.

With no building of their own, Sunday services first took place inside a small sandwich shop owned by a Christian family in down town Williams.

As more people began to join, GBCC moved into the auditorium of the local Elementary School. Every Sunday morning, faithful volunteers transform the school into a place of worship — unloading equipment from a box trailer, setting up the sanctuary, and preparing to livestream the service on Facebook. Its become such a familiar routine that the congregation affectionately calls themselves “church in a box.”

For the first season of ministry, sermons were shared by volunteers who stepped forward to teach God’s Word. Then, in February 2024, Gateway Bible Community Church installed its first ordained pastor — a milestone that marked a new chapter of growth and spiritual leadership.

GBCC continues to faithfully set aside funds toward purchasing or building a dedicated church facility.

What we believe

Scriptures: All Scripture is self-attesting and being Truth, requires our unreserved submission in all areas of life. The infallible Word of God, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is a complete and unified witness to God’s redemptive acts culminating in the incarnation of the Living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible, uniquely and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, is the supreme and final authority on all matters on which it speaks. On this sure foundation we affirm these additional Essentials of our faith:

Holy Trinity: We believe in the one God of the Holy Bible, the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To Him be all honor, glory and praise forever!

Jesus: Jesus Christ, the living Word, became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He who is true God became true man united in one Person forever. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. On the third day He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Mediator.

Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit has come to glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to our hearts. He convicts us of sin and draws us to the Savior. Indwelling our hearts, He gives new life to us, empowers and imparts gifts to us for service. He instructs and guides us into all truth, and seals us (Ephesians 1: 13) for the day of redemption.

Redemption: Being estranged from God and condemned by our sinfulness, our salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God’s free grace. God credits His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, thereby justifies them in His sight. Only those who are born of the Holy Spirit and receive Jesus Christ as their Savior become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

The Church: The true living Church is composed of all persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit are united together in the body of Christ. The Church finds her visible, yet imperfect, expression in local congregations where the Word of God is preached in its purity and the sacraments are administered in their integrity; where scriptural discipline is practiced, and where loving fellowship is maintained. The Church does not fall under the governing authority of any particular doctrine or denomination, but maintains self-governance under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. For her perfecting, the Church awaits the return of her Lord.

Christ’s Return: Jesus Christ will come again to the earth-personally, visibly, and bodily-to judge the living and the dead, and to consummate history and the eternal plan of God. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Rev. 22:20)

The Great Commission: The Lord Jesus Christ commands all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations. Obedience to the Great Commission requires total commitment to “Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.” He calls us to a life of self-denying love and service. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Eph. 2:10)

Ordinances: That the ordinances of the Church, given by the Lord, are Baptism and the Lord's Table (Communion).
